So we at The Boxing Tribune were asked by Fox Sports to submit our top 10 P4P list. You can check out how the vote went here.
And since I think votes like this should be open, here's how I voted in the poll.
1. Floyd Mayweather, Jr - Long layoff or not, I favor Mayweather over anyother fighter in the world P4P. He's too good defensively, too smart in the pocket and too accurate a puncher to be considered otherwise.
2. Manny Pacquiao - Manny's exceptional run is being overshadowed by his overzealous worshipers in the boxing press corps. There are plenty of young, hungry fighters out there for Manny to fight, but his management team has done good to avoid them.
3. Sergio Martinez - "Maravilla" is a poor man's "prime" Roy Jones, Jr, but he's been great at both Jr. Middleweight and Middleweight. I'd like to see him step up and fight the winner of the Super Six tournament, but he seems content to call out smaller fighters like Pacquiao and Mayweather.
4. Nonito Donaire - The "Filipino Flash" seems to be getting better and better, and he has plenty of competition in and around his division to make a legit run at P4P number 1.
5. Wladimir Klitsckho - The reigning heavyweight champ has been so dominant for so long that he has to be in the top 5.
6. Andre Ward - His stock is rising fast, and winning the Super 6 tournament would only add momentum to the career of a fighter with a "just win" attitude.
7. Bernard Hopkins - Such a good technician, Hopkins just keeps winning at the ripe ole age of 46.
8. Juan Manuel Marquez - Marquez is a fantastic fighter who may be moving up too high in weight to chase big money fights. Still, I'd rather a fighter do that than the opposite.
9. Timothy Bradley - Bradley has virtually no power, but he makes up for it in attitude and gumption.
10. Vitali Klitsckho - The elder Klitschko brother seldom loses rounds, much less actual fights. In fact, his only two "losses" were on cuts to Lennox Lewis and via injury to Chris Byrd. And that was years ago.
There you have it folks.
It's like being punched in the face with boxing news and commentary. But in a good way.

Pacquiao is the best fighter of today's generation. He has everything Mayweather does, and the one thing Mayweather lacks that Pacquiao excells at, heart and effective agressiveness.
