In this first edition of what may very well end up being my semi-regular "article of the week" post, The Boxing Tribune's Fox Doucette lays down why Teddy Atlas is being a man of integrity by letting Alexander Povetkin go his own way and why we need more of that kind of thing in the sport. Great points all the way around. He also reported me reporting what Michael Woods reported so that's pretty funny.

Honorable mention goes to the great Ivan Goldman for his piece on the Ring Magazine. What I don't agree with from Goldman is his assessment of boxing in general. Boxing is a dangerous sport. Everybody knows that. The fighters know that just like NFL players know it when they put on the pads. Sure, boxing needs to make improvements to better care for fighters both during and after their careers, but not wanting fighters to quit in the ring shouldn't be condemned as barbarism. Boxing is men being men. I like that. Let's not destroy that any more than we already have.

It's like being punched in the face with boxing news and commentary. But in a good way.
